Slatwall Panels, Shelves and Accessories FAQ

What is slatwall?

Slatwall is a versatile retail display system made up of panels with horizontal grooves that allow a wide range of accessories to be easily attached and repositioned.

In shopfitting, slatwall is used to display products and signage in a professional, organised way. Hooks, shelves, brackets, and holders can be slotted into the grooves, making it quick to adapt your display as stock or promotions change.

This flexibility makes slatwall ideal for maximising space, improving product visibility, and creating attractive, easy-to-update retail displays.

You can create stunning retail displays with our slatwall panels. Slatted wall panels are an easy, cost-effective, and versatile way to merchandise products.

How much weight can slatwall hold?

While most sources say wooden slatwall can hold roughly 40-50kg, this is largely dependent on multiple factors. These include:

  • Whether you're using PVC or MDF panels
  • The surface you're attaching the panels to
  • The quality of the fixings you're using
  • The size and strength of the hooks and other accessories you're using
  • Whether you're using slatwall inserts

We highly recommend using inserts with the MDF panels. They help to increase the strength of your slatwall and prevent damage to the grooves. We have multiple colours of PVC insert, but the metal inserts are the most robust option (inserts are not required or compatible with the PVC panels).

What can I display with slatwall accessories?

Slatwall shelving and hooks are made to display a wide range of products, from lightweight to heavy items, including cosmetics and clothes.

Slatwall panels also make it easy to present appropriate information next to your goods, using accessories such as PVC ticket holders or multipurpose leaflet dispensers.

Are slat panels strictly for shopfittings?

Not at all, slat boards are also highly popular for domestic use, such as for garage wall organisation, craft rooms, and home offices.
