Technology giant Apple is poised to open a new outlet at the Waterside Shopping Centre in Lincoln ahead of the festive season, it has been revealed.
Franchisee Stormfront will open Lincoln’s first Apple store at the site in time for the all-important Christmas season, according to Waterside owners Capital & Regional. The centre’s 78,000 sq ft Topshop outlet was recently refurbished, making it one of the chain’s first UK shops to feature its new branding.
“The Apple brand is iconic and a major retail magnet wherever it trades. Stormfront is the premium UK franchisee and we are delighted to introduce it to Lincoln,” said Capital & Regional retail asset manager Andrew Haughey.
Mr Haughey promised there would be further announcements about future plans for Waterside and cited Apple’s decision to establish a presence at the centre as vindication of Capital & Regional’s ongoing efforts to establish it as Lincoln’s primary retail and lifestyle destination.
Last week, commercial property firm Consolidated Property Group - which owns shopping centres in Macclesfield, Chester and Exeter - confirmed it had bought Bristol’s Eastgate Retail Park for £52m.
