A pair of North Wales businesses have been hailed as being among the best in Britain following a mystery shopping survey.
Martin Rees Jeweller and R. Platt Butchers, both based in the centre of Wrexham, were marked on the type of customer experience they provided as part of a survey carried out by retail industry group, Skillsmart Retail. Each scored top marks in every category, something achieved by only four other companies in Britain out of a sample of 5,000.
The businesses were twice visited in secret in August and September and given marks across a number of categories including customer service, the look of the shop, the standard of the interior and disabled access.
Their scores have helped the North Wales town into fourth position out of the 84 town and cities in the UK which have been assessed so far.
Councillor Rodney Skelland, Wrexham County Borough Council's lead member for regeneration and corporate governance, said: "The results of this survey give us a real feel of where we stand compared to other similar towns and cities across the country.
"We will now spend time looking at the recommendations to see how we can make the town’s shopping experience even better."
