New London shopping centre Westfield Stratford City has welcomed a million people in its first week of trading.
The development, which is located near the Olympic Park in east London, attracted 200,000 visitors on its opening day, then over 150,000 on each of the next six days.
Shoppers spent a total of £20m across the week, showing that they were interested in more than just a curious look around.
Westfield Stratford City contains 300 shops covering the industries of fashion, health and beauty, homewares, food and more. Its key tenants are John Lewis and Marks & Spencer, each with large outlets.
Michael Gutman, managing director of Westfield UK/Europe and New Markets, said: "We are overwhelmed by the response from our consumers who have flocked to the newly opened Westfield Stratford City.
"In the first seven days over one million people have already experienced the new centre and the transport infrastructure, both road and rail, has performed superbly."
