Legendary London department store Harrods has gone for a bold new interior display strategy by adding giant screens to an escalator at its flagship Knightsbridge branch.
As visitors enter from Hans Road they are greeted by an escalator set between two 16-screen video walls, each 13ft in height and boasting high-definition quality.
Harrods has adorned its Knightsbridge and UK airport stores with a total of 150 new digital screens, including more large screens on the fifth, third and lower ground floors of the former.
Harrods Media director Guy Cheston said: "This new upgrade has transformed our digital signage offering by providing tremendous impact and visibility for the brands advertising on these digital media walls.
"We see this as the future, reducing clutter, enabling much greater scope for creativity with content. We have already seen keen interest from our brands, and an uptake in sales and footfall in-store as a result."
