Supermarket retailer Sainsbury's has reinvigorated its graduate training strategy with a new programme designed to draw the best out of the next generation of business leaders.
The new scheme aims to expose graduates to the whole business model and introduce them to responsibility much more quickly than before.
Named the 2020 Leaders Programme, it will begin with a four-month store placement during December, followed by a variety of placements in other areas of the company.
Sainsbury's customer service and colleague director Gwyn Burr said: "The 2020 Leaders Programme represents a fantastic opportunity for graduates. It will offer candidates the opportunity to take on roles that will make a genuine difference to Sainsbury's and its customers."
He added: "At the end of the programme, we hope these graduates will be taking on management positions and by 2020, be influential leaders of the business."
All graduates undertaking the scheme will move into a series of management positions in the second half of the programme.
