London’s Gatwick airport has created a new promotional strategy to ensure that visitors are aware of shopping discounts and special offers available at its shops.
Entitled Gatwick Good Buys, the campaign will involve using promotional workers to speak to travellers once they have cleared airport security.
These members of staff will be equipped with tablet computers and will advertise deals to potential customers; offer further details on how and where to claim them; and be on hand to assist with queries.
Available deals include discounts on items such as sunglasses, cameras, toiletries, shoes and even future flights.
The airport's marketing manager, John Hackwood, said: "In addition to the 20 per cent tax-free savings that passengers can benefit from by shopping at Gatwick, we have introduced Gatwick Good Buys.
"[This is an] initiative that is enabling passengers to make further savings on popular branded items that are currently on offer in our major retail stores."
