Classic retailer Marks & Spencer has announced the completion of its new store at major new shopping centre Westfield Stratford City in East London – with a wealth of environmental benefits.
And it is no normal store in traditional respects either, being the company's third-largest at 136,000sqft and due to feature an innovative in-store navigation scheme.
The Westfield Stratford City branch is 30 per cent bigger than its existing counterpart in Westfield White City and will be driving forward a new presentation style for clothing and food.
It will also be more environmentally friendly than any other M&S store, with a green living roof and a hydrocarbon refrigeration scheme.
Westfield Stratford City's own power plant – which combines cooling, heat and power – will provide 100 per cent of the store's heating and hot water, in a bid to keep it as efficient as possible.
