Following popular demand from customers, department store Debenhams plans to sell a replica of the bridesmaid dress worn by Pippa Middleton at the wedding of her sister Kate Middleton and Prince William earlier this year.
The original white dress, designed by fashion house Alexander McQueen, reportedly cost £20k and has attained iconic status due to its demure yet figure-hugging style.
The copy will have a lower price tag, at £170 - and a reservation system has been implemented to cope with the expected rush.
Debenhams's chief personal shopper at its Oxford Street store, Alain Mehada, said: "Both men and women everywhere were instantly talking about Pippa, so naturally brides-to-be will want to emulate her classic look – both for themselves or their bridesmaids.
"We have been inundated by customers asking if we have anything similar to the dresses worn by Kate, Pippa and the flower girls, but the ivory dress worn by Pippa is the most requested by far."
Debenhams will also sell versions of the evening gowns worn by the Middleton girls, in emerald green and black.
