Crumbles Retail Park in Eastbourne is to benefit from a £14m revitalisation project and will be rebranded Sovereign Central in the process.
Its owner, The Prudential Assurance Company, is investing in a bid to improve the area and make it a much better prospect for shoppers and fun-seekers.
The park's new features will include a nine-screen cinema; refurbishment of the old cinema building to house retail units; better parking facilities and a bus connection.
Real estate fund management company PRUPIM is responsible for delivery of the project. Representative Stephen Gwilliam told the Eastbourne Herald: “The park was originally developed as an out-of-town retail park, but subsequent residential development has significantly changed the character of the area.
“We feel that Sovereign Central is now a much more appropriate name and we believe that forthcoming proposals will help to develop the park in a way that reflects its location at the heart of the Sovereign Harbour community.”
